Hi, I’m Lauren, a specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist, and I am delighted to be joining the team at Start Running – Stay Running.
I join the team with 15 years of clinical experience in NHS hospitals, GP clinics and private practice, and 12 of those more specifically in musculoskeletal and female pelvic health.
My work involves providing expert assessment and treatment of pelvic floor disorders, musculoskeletal injuries and movement dysfunction.
I’ll be available to offer advice, tips and strategies to help our members overcome some of the common but often overlooked or embarrassing barriers to staying fit and running. Problems such as bladder leakage, pelvic organ prolapse, and physical or hormonal changes as we age.
In addition, I am a qualified APPI Pilates class instructor, placing me in a great position to help you optimise your movement patterns and get to the bottom of any musculoskeletal complaints. These niggles can happen, especially around the back and pelvis, which may be affecting your running strategies.
My goal is always to get my clients back to the exercises they love, finding adaptations if necessary, to keep them doing it!
That’s why ‘Start Running – Stay Running’ really resonates with me! Not only that, but I too caught the ‘running bug’ around 18 months ago, and as a lifelong fitness fan, I found it a surprising shock to the system! There’s a lot to learn to optimise it, and that’s why I look forward to working with the team to help you keep it up and to build a strong, healthy relationship with running!
